Delivery and Original Ownership
The kar was originally finished in Sauterne Gold and shipped to Mason Motors in Kokomo, Indiana in November 1965. It was purchased new by E. Staton. on December 1, 1965, as indicated in the original owner's manual. It was later sold to an unknown buyer.
Ronald Conn Ownership: (1978-1981)
In 1978, the kar was purchased by R. Conn, in Decorah, Iowa.
· Participated in amateur drag race events at NEITA Raceway & Tri-State Raceway, Iowa
· Spun bearing, original engine pulled and replaced.
J. Kinney Ownership (1981–1984)
In 1981, the Kar was purchased by J. Kinney of Burlington, Iowa for $1,900 after being advertised in the Decorah, Iowa newspaper.
· Had a 1967 Ford Fairlane 289 engine
· Previously used as a drag kar
· Color was "root beer brown" at time of purchase
· Converted into a road racer
· Shelby drop modification performed
· Amateur raced at the Hillclimb event, Peoria, Illinois and Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin (1982–1983)
R. Hutchinson Ownership (1984–1986)
In 1984, R. Hutchinson. of Des Moines, Iowa purchased the kar from J. Kinney for approximately $2,300.
· Repainted the kar white
B. Hutchinson and M. Hutchinson Ownership (1986–2004)
In 1986, B. Hutchinson and M. Hutchinson of Kalamazoo, Michigan purchased the kar from family member R. Hutchinson.
· B. Hutchinson was a Ford engineer from 1963 to 1993
· Father/Son project acquired and rebuilt a non-original HiPo engine around 1997–1998
D. Yoder Ownership (2004–2016)
In 2004, D. Yoder of Hicksville, Ohio purchased the kar at the Auctions America Car Corral in Auburn, Indiana
· Title paperwork documented appx 40,000 miles at the time of purchase
· Refinished in Dodge Viper Red with white stripes as GT-350 replica
· Drivetrain left untouched due to excellent performance
R. Rosendahl Ownership (2016–2017)
In 2016, R. Rosendahl of Menomonie, Wisconsin purchased the kar
· sold it after short ownership because he was a "mopar guy"
E. Tugby Ownership (2017–Present)
In August 2017, E. Tugby of Sundance, Wyoming purchased the kar for $40,000.
· Pulled it on Uhaul back to San Antonio, TX while in the Air Force. Trunk contained original Autolite carb, original radiator, original hipo fuel pump
· Six year rotisserie restoration between military assignments in TX, ID, WY
· Painted in sapphire blue vintage racing livery

In Dec 2022:
· R. Conn, (son of previous owner R. Conn) contacted Evan. Tugby with original 289 block and provided additional history on the kar.
In February 2024:
· M. Hutchinson posted historic photos including the VIN online to find current owner
· Contact was made with E. Tugby
· Original hard copy photos from the early to mid 1980s were shared
